Urgent Declaration to Respect Human Rights concerning the COVID-19 Infection 新型コロナウイルス感染症に関連した人権への配慮について
更新日:2022年4月4日
The Novel Coronavirus Infection Disease continues to rage not only in Japan, but also around the world.
Likewise, in our city the virus’ impact has been profound. Although the national emergency declaration has been lifted, the number of people infected with the disease has begun to rise again, mainly in urban areas, and the situation remains unpredictable.
While in the midst of these prolonged measures against the Novel Coronavirus infection, discrimination, prejudice and bullying aimed at our fellow people and their families, including those in the medical/nursing care fields who are on the front lines fighting for and protecting the health of the infected, their families and citizens, as well as those who are struggling every day to support our daily lives and society, have become major social issues.
Human rights are fundamental rights that must be respected at all times. Discrimination and prejudice will not be tolerated.
Everyone is at risk of infection. It is of utmost importance that we do not sympathize with prejudice and discriminatory words and behavior, but rather act on credible information and knowledge.
We need to fight the virus together, not fight with our fellow human beings.
We hope to help bring the Novel Coronavirus infection to an end as soon as possible while protecting our new way of life, and we, the City and citizens united, also hereby declare to work towards makingMatsudo City “free of discrimination, prejudice and bullying” in face of the Novel Coronavirus infection disease.
