Here comes Erin! January 2018 Issue

I am a big fan of social media. Not only is it a quick and effective way of keeping in touch with friends and family back in Australia and beyond, but it also plays a key role in my work as a Coordinator of International Relations. My pet project - this International Portal webpage - is complimented by a Facebook page (@matsudocity.intlportal) and a Twitter account (@matsudo_intl), all of which enable us to better support the foreign community with multilingual information.

I am delighted to announce that the city has recently branched out into Instagram - an online app that allows users to share pictures and videos publicly (predominantly by smart phone). Local governments across the globe have long been using the service to show off their cities, and we have enthusiastically jumped on board with account name ‘matsudocity_official’. We hope to build a strong following and to promote local life and local businesses to residents and visitors alike.

For those of you who are already Instagram fans, I encourage you to follow the matsudocity_official account and to tag your local snaps with hashtag #matsudo_hotpics. We will repost the best shots on our account for the world to see!
