Places of interest 松戸市の観光スポット

Tojo-tei House and Garden 戸定邸

Tojo-tei House was built in 1884 as a holiday villa for Akitake Tokugawa, younger brother of the last shogun Yoshinobu Tokugawa. Due to Matsudo’s close proximity to both Tokyo and the historic Mito Highway, the villa was an excellent getaway spot for use between official engagements.
Tojo-tei House is the only Tokugawa family residence exhibited to the public in Japan. Visitors are able to walk through the house and also enjoy views of the manicured gardens. Both the house and garden have been nationally recognized as sites of cultural importance and scenic beauty, respectively.

Forest and Park for the 21st Century 21世紀の森と広場

This park is the largest green space in Matsudo, covering 50.5 hectares in the Sendabori district. There are rolling lawns, a lake, and a designated forest - excellent for a barbeque! It is also home to the Matsudo Municipal Museum.

Matsudo Keirin Velodrome 松戸けいりん

The Matsudo Velodrome, “Matsudo Keirin,” opened in 1950 and remains popular among velodrome racing fans for its unusual 333m banks. 'Keirin' is a form of motor-paced cycle racing in which track cyclists sprint for victory following a speed-controlled start behind a pacer.

Keirin is one of Japan's four authorized "Public Sports" where gambling is permitted.
