Geographical overview of Matsudo 松戸市の地理的特徴
Matsudo City is in the northwest of Chiba Prefecture, separated from the neighboring Tokyo Metropolis by the Edo River. With the JR Joban Line serving as the boundary, the area to the west consists of lowlands, while the area to the east is the Shimosa Plateau which is characterized by a hilly terrain with many slopes and stairways.
Matsudo is located a mere 20km from the Tokyo city center and can be reached by train from Tokyo Station in just 24 minutes on the JR Joban Line. Matsudo also has direct access to the Tokyo Bay Area and Saitama Prefecture on the JR Musashino Line, and is directly linked to both the Narita and Haneda airports by the Hokuso Railway Line.

松戸市は、千葉県の北西部にあり 江戸川を隔てて東京都と隣接し、都心から20キロメートルに位置しています。
JR常磐線 を境に西側は低地、東側は下総台地となっており、 台地側では坂道や階段が多い起伏に富んだ地形が特徴的です。
市の西の際に位置する松戸駅から東京駅へは、JR常磐線で24分という近さにあります。また、東京湾岸エリアや埼玉県へもJR武蔵野線で乗換えすることなく行くことができ、海外から訪問者も成田、羽田両空港から北総鉄道により直接本市にアクセスすることができます。

Rail line: There are 6 train lines that service 23 train stations throughout Matsudo City.

- Yabashira/Shin-Yahashira Stations (in central Matsudo)
- Higashimatsudo Station (in southern Matsudo)
City Bus: There are over 50 bus routes that service Matsudo City. Some of them are also connected to the neighboring cities of Ichikawa, Kashiwa, Nagareyama, and Misato.
