Here comes Ha! March 2020 Issue

To welcome the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games and the many tourists who will visit Japan at that time, Matsudo City is developing a variety of hands-on activities to attract people to Matsudo. This time, I participated in a Japanese armor-wearing activity in its trial stages. Imagine yourself wearing gorgeous handmade armor and walking though Tojo-tei House’s 100-year-old garden. You’d feel like a samurai during the great Edo period, just as I did.

The armor I wore was carefully made by members of the Matsudo Handmade Japanese Armor Fan Club (MHJAFC). I really appreciate their artisanal talents and passion for spreading the beauty of Japanese armor to everyone. I hope this experience will soon see an official launch and become a must-do experience for future tourists.

　2020東京オリンピック・パラリンピック競技大会の開催に伴いこれから日本に来るたくさんの観光客を歓迎するため、松戸市は様々な体験型観光コンテンツを試し、開発しています。今回、私は甲冑の着付け体験に試験的に参加しました。甲冑を着て、100年の歴史を有する戸定邸の庭を歩くことを想像してみてください。江戸時代にいる感じがしませんか？私はとてもそう感じました。

　私が着た甲冑は、松戸手作り甲冑愛好会の皆さんが一つ一つ丁寧に作ったものです。私は彼らの技術と甲冑の美しさを人々に届ける熱心さに感動させられました。この独特で楽しい体験が事業化し、松戸にお越しいただく観光客の「絶対やるべき体験」になることを願っています。
