Turn back to the past on the “Yagiri-no-watashi” ferryboat crossing

I’m a nostalgic person who love old stuff. Since I came to Matsudo, I have always wanted to discover the old-fashioned beauty of the city and I chose “Yagiri-no-watashi” ferryboat crossing to be the starting point of my journey.

“Yagiri-no-watashi” ferryboat crossing dates back to Edo Period, linking Matsudo’s Yakiri and Tokyo’s Shibamata. The flow of time has given this place a special ancient vibe. I feel like time stops here despite the nonstop pace of life out there. Sitting on the wooden boat and looking at the surrounding peaceful landscape in the harmorny of the winds and the paddling sound is definitely one of the most memorable memories in this city.

I admire the way Japanese people value and preserve their history. Thanks to that, I can turn back to the past in this morden life. Dear readers, can you recommend me other places in Matsudo where I can feel the old Japan? I’m looking forward to travelling to the next place in my journey.

矢切の渡しで過去に戻る

私は古いものが好きな人です。松戸市の昔ながらの美しさを見つけたくて、探索の旅の出発点に矢切の渡しを選びました。矢切の渡しは江戸時代から松戸市の矢切地区と東京都の柴又地区を結んでいる江戸川の渡し船です。

時代を帯びて、今はレトロで慎ましい雰囲気を醸し出しています。周りの生活がどのように変わってきても、この場所は昔のままに残ったように感じました。風の音と手漕ぎの音が調和する中、小船に乗り、川沿いに広がる緑の景色を眺めることは今までにない体験でした。私にとって松戸市で一番思い出に残る体験の一つになるかもしれません。

日本人が歴史を尊重し、守っていることは素晴らしいと思います。そのおかげで、現代の生活でも過去を旅することができました。読者の皆さん、松戸でレトロ感を味わえるスポットが他にもありましたら、おすすめを教えていただけると大変うれしく思います。この旅の次の場所に足を運べることを楽しみにしています。
