Here comes Ha! July 2020 Issue

Due to Chiba’s State of Emergency, I was unable to dine out. Some restaurants in the city offered takeout options, but I was unsure whether I should even go outside during a time like this. Thankfully, Matsudo City came out with “Matsutaku Demaebin,” a service where you order food from a restaurant, and then a taxi driver picks it up to deliver it near your home. The service is free, so long as your home is within 5km of the restaurant and your order is over 1000 yen.

In Vietnam, bike delivery services are widespread and very convenient, but this was the first time I had heard of taxi delivery. It’s quite useful too, isn’t it? There are plenty of options, such as Japanese food, Chinese food and Italian food. I made my order at 10am and the delivery came exactly at 12pm. The food was still piping hot when it arrived. One minor thing to note is the delivery came in disposable plastic containers. To make sure it’s recycled, I thoroughly washed everything before throwing it away. Despite that, I was happy to be able to eat delicious food even though I could not go outside. It would be great if I could use this service again and again.

わくわくまつタク

　新型コロナウイルス感染症拡大防止のため、外出や外食を自粛していました。市内にはテイクアウトが可能な飲食店もありますが、出かけようか出かけまいか迷いますね。そこで、松戸市が開始した「まつタク出前便」を利用しました。飲食店に電話をすると、注文の品物をタクシードライバーが飲食店で預かり、自宅付近まで配達してくれます。配送料はゼロ円です（自宅飲食店間が5キロメートル以内かつ商品購入代金1,000円以上が対象）。

ベトナムはバイクデリバリーが普及しており、よく利用していました。タクシーデリバリーは初めて聞きましたが、便利ですね。対象店舗は、和食、中華、イタリアンなど豊富です。10時に注文して、12時ぴったりに注文の品物が届きました。出来たてでほくほくと温かく、とてもおいしかったです。出前なので、プラスチックの容器に入っています。リサイクルするため捨てる前に洗い、分別しました。家にいながら、美味しい食べ物を食べられると気持ちも明るくなりますね。普段でもこのような便利なサービスを利用できればいいなぁと思います。
