【Aug. 9 & 10】17th Annual Sakagawa Lantern Festival / 第17回 松戸宿坂川献灯まつり
The corn market at Shooryuji Temple, which used to be held at the historic Matsudo Inn area, has become a beloved local summer festival after the restoration of the clear waters of the Sakagawa River.
The lanterns are offered as an expression of gratitude and respect for the predecessors who pioneered and rebuilt the Sakagawa River, and for nature.
Other events at the festival include a corn market, food stalls, and taiko drum performances. In addition, a corner for traditional Japanese games is set up to take visitors back in time to the good old days.
The famous soysauce-grilled corn on a cob is a must have!
Find “nagomi”(calmness), “yasuragi”(peace), and “natukasisa”(nostalgia) of the unique historic town.
