Meet CIR Breanna ~CIR ブリアナをご紹介します~

Dear readers,
Hello! My name is Breanna and I will be working as a CIR in the Culture, Tourism and International Division of Matsudo’s City Hall. I am from North Carolina, USA, but I have lived in various locations including Maryland, California and Okinawa. I worked as a translator and secretary at a Japanese company in the US before coming to Japan. I can also speak Korean and Spanish to varying degrees. I look forward to using my skills to help promote tourism in Matsudo. I am very excited to explore all that Matsudo has to offer and share my experiences with everyone!

初めまして！国際交流員として松戸市役経済振興部文化観光国際課に勤めるブリアナ・ハンドリーです。アメリカ合衆国のノースカロライナ州から来ました。メリーランド州、カリフォルニア州、沖縄など様々な場所に住んだことがあります。来日前、アメリカにある日本の会社で日本語の翻訳兼秘書として働いていました。韓国語もスペイン語も話すことができます。身につけた言語能力とスキルを生かして文化観光を促進することを楽しみにしています。松戸市を探検し、皆様と経験を共有することに興奮しています。

A1　I have been to Japan twice before. I actually lived in Okinawa when I was little because of my mother's work, and stayed four months in Nagoya to study Japanese when I was in college.

A2　Karaoke charge is so cheap in Japan! It's more expensive in North Carolina because there aren't many Karaoke places around. I remember going to Karaoke in Japan with my friends for a few hours, and it cost only 300yen each. But if you want to do the same in the US, and it would probably costs about 3000yen per person! That was shocking!

A3　When I was 14, I heard a Japanese song for the first time and thought, "Wow this language is pretty! I want to know what it says!". So I borrowed textbooks for Japanese at the library and started studying.

A4　I love to sing, learn different languages, and do photography. I majored in Japanese and Spanish in college, and currently I'm studying Korean in addition to Japanese. I record myself singing covers of songs in English and other languages, and like to participate in singing contests!

A1　二回、訪日したことがあります！子供の時、母親の仕事により沖縄に4年間住んでいました。それに、大学生の時、日本語を勉強するために4か月間名古屋に留学しました。

A2　一番驚いたことはカラオケの安さです。ノースカロライナにはカラオケルームがあまりないので高いです！日本で友達と数時間カラオケに行ったとき、1人300円くらいでしたが、アメリカでは、数時間カラオケに行ったら、1人3000円くらいです！とてもびっくりしました！

A3　14才の時、日本語の歌を聴いて、「この言語がきれいで歌の意味を分かりたい！」と思いました。それで図書館で日本語の教科書を借りて、日本語を勉強し始めました！

A4　趣味は歌うこと、外国語の勉強、撮影です。大学では日本語とスペイン語を専攻していて、今は日本語と韓国語を勉強しています。英語でも外国語でもカバーソングを録音することものど自慢大会に参加することもすごく好きです！
