Erin was Matsudo City's inaugural Coordinator of International Relations. She enjoyed living and working in the city from July 2015 until February 2018, when she moved on to pursue graduate studies in Melbourne, Australia.
Meet 'CIR' Erin!
Hello and welcome! My name is Erin Scott, and I am one of Matsudo City’s 'CIRs' (Coordinators of International Relations). It is a pleasure to share these pages with you.
I know we’ve only just met, but I’m going to let you in on a little secret...I’m actually a Matsudo newbie. I arrived bright eyed and bushy tailed at the end of July 2015 to set up house and start a new job. Moving to a new place always feels like a bit of a gamble, but Matsudo has already wiggled its way into my affections. Good luck on my part!
Whilst I do have a long affiliation with Japan, I am not Japanese. Below are three cultural excerpts* to help you guess where I am from -

In plain English, I am from Australia! I grew up just a few minutes away from Matsudo’s sister city － the City of Whitehorse － in Melbourne. Whilst I call Melbourne my home, I have also been fortunate enough to live in several other cities both within Australia and abroad in Japan and Spain.
My passions include intercultural communication and travelling to new places. I also enjoy snorkeling, playing the ukulele, and feasting on sushi train. The word that best describes my personality would have to be ‘curious’. Finally, I can often be found sipping on a Matcha Latte in one of the many cafes nearby Matsudo Station － if you spot me please don’t hesitate to say hello!
As Matsudo’s inaugural Coordinator of International Relations (CIR), I am excited to encourage others to discover the many charms of this city. See you in Matsudo!

エリンさんは松戸市初の国際交流員でした。平成27年7月から平成30年2月まで市内に住んで楽しく暮らしたり働いたりした後、大学院へ進学するためにオーストラリアのメルボルンに帰国しました。
文化観光国際課 国際交流員（CIR）スコット・エリンです。エリンと呼んでください。皆様このウェブページにようこそ！
はじめまして！でいきなりですが、私の秘密をひとつ教えます。
実は、私は松戸市の新参者です。初めて松戸に来たのは、2015年7月末に市役所で働き始めるために引っ越してきた日でした！
全く知らない場所で新しい人生を始めるのは危険な賭けのように感じましたが、いつの間にか松戸のリズムが気に入ってました。賭けが成功し、ここにきて運がよかったと思います！
日本と深いつながりはありますが、私は日本人ありません（名前と写真でわかりますね）。どこの出身か推測できますか？下の3枚の写真がヒントです。

分かりましたか？(1)オペラハウス、(2)オージービーフ、(3)暖かいクリスマスといえば…そう！オーストラリア出身です。
私は、メルボルンにある松戸市の姉妹都市ホワイトホース市から車で10分ほどの所で育ちました。メルボルン以外にも、オーストラリアの首都キャンベラと、中北部にあるノーザン・テリトリーという地域に住んだこともあり、海外では日本とスペインに住む機会も得ました。
異文化間コミュニケーションと旅行に強い関心があり、スノーケリングとウクレレを弾くこと、回転寿司をガツガツ食べることも大好きです。自分の性格を言い表すキーワードを選ぶとしたら、“好奇心が強い”だと思います。最後に、よく松戸駅近くのカフェで抹茶ラテをゆっくり飲んでいるので、私を見かけたら、ぜひ声をかけてください！
