1. Tojo Wisteria Festival 戸定の藤まつり
Around 40 potted wisteria plants will be on display in Tojo Park from mid April into early May. On loan from the Kanegasaku Nursery, the wisteria will bloom a beautiful white, pink and purple, with a lovely aroma to match.
Dates: Friday 12th April - Sunday 5th of May, 2019
Time: 9:00 - 17:00
Place: 'Tojogaoka Rekishi Koen' (Tojo Park), Matsudo 714-1 (10min walk from Matsudo Station East Exit)
Fee: Free entry to Park. Entrance fee applies to Tojo-tei House and Museum

2. Mori Hiro Festa 2019 -Kids Kingdom- 松戸モリヒロフェスタ2019～こどもの王国
This year's Mori Hiro Festa will take place on 3 consecutive days of 'Golden Week'. The park will come alive with kids activities, performances, and food (!), promising a fun day for children and parents alike.
Dates: Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th of May, 2019 (public holiday)
Hours: 10:00-15:00 everyday
Location: Forest & Park for the 21st Century, Sendabori
- May 3rd: “Tokusatsu Boyz” Stage Show
Chiba’s special effects hero team has come to sing and dance! Tomatarou and Bakegorou will also be stopping by!
- May 4th: Morihiro Kid’s Concert
Feel the revival of ancient music with a free-session percussion jam! Throw your voice, move your body, join the circle and play taiko together!
- May 5th: Morihiro Kid’s Park
See, listen, learn - experience a bounty of workshops in nature! Wooden tag making, kamishibai performances, open-sky karate, crawling races, gymnastics classes, rugby classes, grass coaster making - the list goes on and on!
- May 4th - 5th: Hall of the Forest Children
Have fun playing with interesting toys like ring toss, stilts, and kendama in the fresh outdoors!
- May 3rd - 5th: Don-chan and Guri-chan’s Great Rescue Mission!
Enjoy an original anime show before heading out into the park for a stamp rally! The anime is voiced by none other than Matsudo’s legendary voice actor, Hiroshi Kamiya.
- May 3rd - 5th: Matsudo Marche
Over 20 stalls and food trucks will make an appearance this year, so eat your heart out no longer and eat your fill of delicious Matsudo cuisine!
4. Spring Flower Festival 春の花まつり
Held amongst the 'Flower Line' hobby flower beds alongside the Edogawa River, the Spring Flower Festival is a lovely day out in the local community. There will be educational booths, marine life exhibitions, quiz challenges, canoe experiences, flowers for sale, and more!
Date: Sunday 25th of May, 2019
*The event will be cancelled in the case of rain.

1. Planetarium screenings @ Naoko Space Planetarium プラネタリウム室のスケジュール
The Matsudo Shimin Kaikan (Citizens' Centre) is home to the 'Naoko Space Planetarium', aptly named after former astronaut and Matsudo local Naoko Yamazaki. The May and June's schedule is as follows -
Dates: Wednesday May 1st - Sunday June 30th, 2019
Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays
May 2019 Programs:
"Space Laboratory ISS" (40min), 10:30* and 15:30
"The Story of Corvus, the Crow Constellation" (20min, for children), 13:30 and 14:30
※The 10:30 screening has Japanese subtitles for the hearing impaired.
Entry fee: 50yen for adults, free for children (junior school and below) and pensioners (65 years and over).
Entry tickets are required and can be picked up/purchased on the 2nd floor up to 30min prior to each screening.

1. Gathering of foreign parents and babies @ Shin Matsudo 'Hot Room' (public playspace) 海外から来たママとパパの広場 ＠ 新松戸 ほっとるーむ
On the 4th Thursday of every month the Shin Matsudo 'Hot Room' playspace holds a casual gathering for foreign parents and their babies. The session is also popular amongst parents with foreign spouses, parents who have lived overseas in the past, and those who have an interest in foreign cultures. It is completely free and open to anyone with a young child (generally up to the age of 3). For more information, click here.
