1. Art Park Project, vol. 12 アートパーク12
'Art Park' is an interactive community art project held in Matsudo Central Park ('Chuo Koen'). Art Park events are put on by Seitoku University, in collaboration with community organisations and local government. Participation in Art Park is open to children and their parents, and is free of charge.
When: Sunday, July 7th 2019 10:00~15:00
Participation welcome at any time during these hours
Where: Matsudo Central Park ('Chuo Koen'), a short walk from Matsudo Station east exit (behind Ito Yokado)
Participation: Children (elementary school age and below). Parents are also welcome
Fee: Nil
※The event will proceed in the case of light rain. In the case of heavy rain, it will be postponed until Sunday 14th of July.
2. Shin Matsudo Festival 新松戸まつり
Get out and about in Shin Matsudo this July! This local festival is in it's 33rd year, and promises a fun day out for the entire family. There will be a samba dance parade, traditional dance performances, taiko drumming, shrine carrying for the kids, food stalls and more!
Date: Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of July, 2019
Time: 10:30-20:00

3. Nishiguchi Park Beer Garden 西口公園ビアガーデン
The Beer Garden is back for another year! Head down to Nishiguchi Park to enjoy some beer on tap, festival foods and live music. A great way to relax with friends and family.
Date: Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th of July, 2019
Time: 12:00 - 20: 00 both days
Place: Nishiguchi Park, in front of Daiei (2 min walk from the west exit of Matsudo Station)

1. Summer Exhibition "The Beauty of Sakagawa River and Edogawa River" @ Tojo Museum of History 夏季展 「坂川・江戸川水景色」@戸定歴史館
When Akitake Tokugawa moved to Matsudo and build the Tojo-tei House in 1884, he became passionate about photography. He often went out alone taking pictures of daily life and nature around Matsudo. And now, those photos have become valuable historical materials. This time, Tojo Museum of History would like to share a part of this treasure - the beauty of Sakagawa River and Edogawa River through Akitake’s lens.
Dates: Saturday July 20th - Monday 23rd of September, 2019 (open daily, excl. Mondays)
Hours: 9:30 - 17:00 (last entry at 16:30)
Venue: Tojo Museum of History, Matsudo 714-1 (ten min. walk from Matsudo Station East Exit)
Fee: General 150 yen, High school/University students 100 yen (includes entry to Tojo-tei House)

2. Planetarium screenings @ Naoko Space Planetarium プラネタリウム室のスケジュール
The Matsudo Shimin Kaikan (Citizens' Center) is home to the 'Naoko Space Planetarium,' aptly named after former astronaut and Matsudo local Naoko Yamazaki. The planetarium runs seasonal screenings. The July schedule is as follows -
Dates: Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from July 13th
July 2019 Programs:
"To the Moon Again" (40min), 10:30* and 15:30
"The Hook of Maui - A Tale of Scorpio" (20min, for children), 13:30 and 14:30
※The 10:30 screening has Japanese subtitles for the hearing impaired.
Entry fee: 50yen for adults, free for children (junior school and below) and pensioners (65 years and over). Entry tickets are required and can be picked up/purchased on the 2nd floor up to 30min prior to each screening.

1. Gathering of foreign parents and babies @ 'Hot Room Shin Matsudo' (public playspace) 海外から来たママとパパの広場 @ ほっとるーむ新松戸
On the 4th Thursday of every month the 'Hot Room Shin Matsudo' playspace holds a casual gathering for foreign parents and their babies. The session is also popular amongst parents with foreign spouses, parents who have lived overseas in the past, and those who have an interest in foreign cultures. It is completely free and open to anyone with a young child (generally up to the age of 3).
