1. Tokiwadaira Cherry Blossom Festival 常盤平さくらまつり
The largest of Matsudo's many cherry blossom festivals, attracting over 200,000 visitors annually!
The Tokiwadaira 'Sakura-dori' (Sakura St.) extends 2.2km between Tokiwadaira and Goko Stations (Shin Keisei Line). 600 cherry blossom trees line both sides of the road, creating a beautiful pink cherry-blossom arch. Sakura-dori will be closed to vehicular traffic during the festival, and the street will be filled with food stalls and other vendors. Parades and charity performances are also scheduled throughout the weekend. See you there!

Location: Tokiwadaira Sakura-dori, directly accessible from Tokiwadaira and Goko Stations (Shin Keisei Railway Line)
Note: All food stalls and vendors will close 1 hour prior to the festival's closing time on both days.
2. Yahashira Cherry Blossom Festival 八柱さくらまつり
Come and celebrate the cherry blossoms in Yabashira (walking distance from the Tokiwadaira festivities). There will also be live stage performances and a music parade!
Date: Saturday 6th of April, 2019
Time: 10:00 - 16:15
Location: Around Yabashira/Shin-Yahashira Stations (Shin Keisei Line)
3. Mutsumi Cherry Blossom Festival 六実桜まつり
Come and celebrate the cherry blossoms in Mutsumi! There will also be a parade, a samba performance, a karaoke competition, a professional mini concert, and a mini steam locomotive ride for children, etc.
Date: Saturday 6th of April - Sunday 7th of April, 2019
Time: 9:00 - 17:00 both days
Location: Rokkodai Sakura-dori, nearby Mutsumi Station (Tobu Urban Park Line)
4. Kokubungawa River Cherry Blossom Festival 国分川桜まつり
Come and celebrate the cherry blossoms by the Kokubungawa River! There will also be performances, yakitori and yakisoba stalls.
Date: Sunday 31st of March, 2019
Time: 10:00 - 15:00
Location: Kokubugawa riverbank, nearby the Konoshin Bridge (walking distance from JR Higashi Matsudo Station)
6. Tojo Wisteria Festival 戸定の藤まつり
Around 40 potted wisteria plants will be on display in Tojo Park from mid April into early May. On loan from the Kanegasaku Nursery, the wisteria will bloom a beautiful white, pink and purple, with a lovely aroma to match.

Potted wisteria 鉢植えの藤
7. Greenery & Flower Festival 緑と花フェスティバル
Head down to Matsudo's premier green space, the Forest & Park for the 21st Century, for a spring celebration of greenery and flowers. There will be flowers on display, plants and organic local produce for sale, stage performances, games for the kids, and more! Don't miss this opportunity to get out into the community.

1. Planetarium screenings @ Naoko Space Planetarium プラネタリウム室のスケジュール
The Matsudo Shimin Kaikan (Citizens' Centre) is home to the 'Naoko Space Planetarium', aptly named after former astronaut and Matsudo local Naoko Yamazaki. The March and April's schedule is as follows -

Entry fee: 50yen for adults, free for children (junior school and below) and pensioners (65 years and over). Entry tickets are required and can be picked up/purchased on the 2nd floor up to 30min prior to each screening.

1. Gathering of foreign parents and babies @ 'Hot Room Shin Matsudo' (public playspace) 海外から来たママとパパの広場 ＠ ほっとるーむ新松戸
On the 4th Thursday of every month the 'Hot Room Shin Matsudo' playspace holds a casual gathering for foreign parents and their babies. The session is also popular amongst parents with foreign spouses, parents who have lived overseas in the past, and those who have an interest in foreign cultures. It is completely free and open to anyone with a young child (generally up to the age of 3).
